Jumping in the Pacific every morning, and then walking every direction inland. Cerro de la Neveria with it's spindly towers watching your back. Shade in front of the Basilica, and pure sun at the top of the "tallest natural lighthouse in the world." Brothers, ex-fishermen, with necklaces of golden shrimp. A building foundation turned swimming-pool by the ocean. The smell of sweat, the feel of sweat, the love of sweat. The flowers girls and the con-man. A cold shower and a hot and purple thunderstorm.
